Skin break-outs can happen to anyone. Teen-age boys and girls usually run into this problem when they are going through ****rty. They are hit most by this, however it can happen to anyone at any stage in life. Many women might see acne in the late 30’s. The break-outs can be mild with a few blemishes are full blown acne, sometimes known as cystic acne. Don’t cancel all your dates though, there is hope. We will look at treatment for cystic acne.

Acne effects the skin. We want to put our best face forward but acne can raise it’s ugly head on many parts of the body and take on different forms such as: pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. A pimple has the presence of infection because of bacteria. All types of acne start way down deep in the oil glands, you might hear this referred to as the sebaceous gland. These glands help moisturize our skin but if the hair follicle gets clogged up, bacteria can develop. Hormones can also play a role in acne forming as well. Androgens are male hormones that both men and women have can stimulate the hair follicles and oil glands.

Cystic acne can be a problem for more than just the face. Anytime an oil duct becomes infected, this is an open invitation to this intrusive blemish. Cystic acne can be experienced on the back, on the buttocks and just about anywhere a hair follicle gets clogged up. We have all heard the saying, things might get worse before they get better, well this is true for treating acne. Don’t expect to see instant results because it could take a month or two for things to clear up. Over the counter drugs can be used in the beginning that can be applied directly to the problem area. If this does not help a doctor or dermatologist will probably prescribe an oral medication. In severe cases or if it seems necessary an antibiotic might be prescribed to fight swelling and infectious bacteria.

Acne medications help by creating new cells and stopping the hair follicles from being clogged up. They will help control the oil and bacteria. If there is a concern, by all means do not hesitate seeing a physician.

There are things you can do to help prevent acne. Do not squeeze the ***ps, this will cause them to get worse, and nobody needs that. Also, look for acne creams that have benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Wear loose clothing and clean the areas up after working out or hard work that causes excessive sweating.

Remember if acne attacks you, you can fight back. With cleanliness, proper medication and the help of a physician or dermatologist you can regain your self-confidence and see “clear” again.
